Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Driver-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Driver-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Driver-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (L.H.D.) ).
- Driver-side knee air bag module (See KNEE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove using the procedure shown in the figure.

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONStep Part name 1 Connector - 2 Bolt 3 N.m {28 kgf.cm, 24 in.lbf} 3 Telematics communication unit - - Install in the reverse order of removal.
- If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the procedure after the telematics communication unit replacement. (See Procedure after Telematics Communication Unit Replacement ).
- Perform the power liftgate (PLG) initialization procedure. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
- Initialize power outer mirror retract/return function. (See POWER OUTER MIRROR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
