Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

D-code 

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Driver-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Driver-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Driver-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Driver-side lower panel (See DRIVER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (L.H.D.) ).
    5. Driver-side knee air bag module (See KNEE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove using the procedure shown in the figure.

    TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

    Step Part name
    1 Connector -
    2 Bolt 3 N.m {28 kgf.cm, 24 in.lbf}
    3 Telematics communication unit -
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  5. If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the procedure after the telematics communication unit replacement. (See Procedure after Telematics Communication Unit Replacement ).
  6. Perform the power liftgate (PLG) initialization procedure. (See POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
  7. Initialize power outer mirror retract/return function. (See POWER OUTER MIRROR INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE .)
