Dash-Electrical Supply Unit Removal/Installation [Full-Auto Air Conditioner]
WARNING:
- Handling the air bag module improperly can accidentally deploy the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. CAUTION:
- When replacing the dash-electrical supply unit, perform the configuration to assure that the system operates correctly. (Refer to CONFIGURATION .) )
- To replace the dash-electrical supply unit, perform the following procedure.
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
- Activate the M-MDS and perform the following procedure.
- Press [Start] to start the vehicle identification.
- Press the [Toolbox] tab.
- Press the [Work Support] icon.
- Press [Configuration].
- Press [Run] to perform the configuration.
- Press [DASH_ESU].
- When [Install the new ECU] is displayed, move to the dash-electrical supply unit replacement procedure.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Glove compartment (without passenger-side knee air bag module) (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION WITHOUT PASSENGER-SIDE KNEE AIR BAG MODULE .)
- Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side decoration panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side lower panel (See PASSENGER-SIDE LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side knee air bag module (with passenger-side knee air bag module) (See PASSENGER-SIDE KNEE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .)
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the dash-electrical supply unit.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- If the dash-electrical supply unit is replaced, perform the following procedure.
- Return to the M-MDS operation and press [Continue].
- When the M-MDS processing is completed, press [Next].
- When the M-MDS processing is completed, press [Next].
- Verify that the following conditions/operations are met/completed, mark the check boxes, and then press [Next].
- Ignition is switched ON (engine off)
- Install battery charger to vehicle
- Battery voltage: 11.6 V or more
- Connect power cable to M-MDS
- Front doors on both sides and liftgate are open
- Press [Finish].
- Switch the ignition OFF.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete the global central configuration (GCC) for the dash-electrical supply unit.
- Clear the DTC. (Refer to CLEARING DTC .) )
