DTC P2119-00: Throttle Body System: Mechanical Malfunction

P2119-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Throttle body system: Mechanical malfunction
Detection condition
  • When the iginition is switched off, the difference between the actual throttle position and the initial throttle position setting is the specification or more.
Fail-safe
  • Restricts the upper limit of the engine speed.
Possible cause
  1. Throttle body connector or terminal malfunction (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. PCM connector or terminal malfunction (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  3. Drive-by-wire control malfunction (See ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION [VIN Y] .)
  4. Throttle body (return spring) malfunction (Refer to applicable THROTTLE BODY INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  5. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off) and wait for 1 min or more.
  3. Switch the ignition off.
  4. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
