DTC P2101-00: Throttle Valve Actuator Control Motor System: Circuit Malfunction

P2101-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Throttle valve actuator control motor system: Circuit malfunction
Detection condition
  • The throttle valve actuator supply voltage is the standard or less even though the main relay is on.
  • There is a system error in the electrical throttle control system of the PCM.
Fail-safe
  • Restricts the upper limit of the engine speed.
  • Fixes the throttle valve opening angle.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery and main relay

    (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)

  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between main relay and PCM

    (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)

  3. Throttle valve actuator malfunction (Refer to THROTTLE BODY INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOEO self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
