DTC P2090-00: Hydraulic Variable Valve Timing Control System: Low Input

P2090-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Hydraulic variable valve timing control system: Low input
Detection condition
  • The OCV control voltage relative to the PCM control is too low.
Fail-safe
  • Set the exhaust variable valve timing control to the maximum advanced position.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between OCV and PCM

    (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)

  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between main relay and OCV

    (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)

  3. OCV malfunction (Refer to OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
