DTC P18A4-00: Pcm I-ACTIV AWD Control System

P18A4-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location PCM i-ACTIV AWD control system
Detection condition
  • A condition in which the difference between the target current of the AWD solenoid control current and the actual current is the specification or more continues.
Fail-safe
  • Inhibits the i-ACTIV AWD control.
Possible cause
  1. Differential oil temperature is higher than specified value.
    NOTE:
    • Switch the ignition off and allow vehicle to cool down.
  2. i-ACTIV AWD system-related part connector or terminal malfunction (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
    • Coupling component temperature sensor
    • Differential oil temperature sensor
    • AWD solenoid
    • Electrical supply unit (ESU)
  3. AWD solenoid malfunction (Refer to applicable AWD SOLENOID INSPECTION in the service information.)
  4. Electrical supply unit (ESU) related DTCs are stored in the body control module (BCM).

  5. Electrical supply unit (ESU) malfunction (Refer to applicable ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
  6. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  3. Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
