DTC P18A0-00: Differential Oil Temperature Sensor: Low Input

P18A0-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Differential oil temperature sensor: Low input
Detection condition
  • The PCM detects a short to ground in the differential oil temperature sensor signal circuit.
Fail-safe
  • Inhibits the i-ACTIV AWD control.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between differential oil temperature sensor and electrical supply unit (ESU) (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)

  2. Electrical supply unit (ESU) malfunction (Refer to applicable ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
  3. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  3. Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
