DTC P1380-00: Electric Variable Valve Timing Control System: Signal Circuit Problem

P1380-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Electric variable valve timing control system: signal circuit problem
Detection condition
  • A malfunction is detected in the results of the on-board diagnostic test received from the electric variable valve timing driver.
Fail-safe
  • Stops activation of the electric variable valve timing driver.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between PCM and electric variable valve timing motor/driver (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Electric variable valve timing driver malfunction (Refer to ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR/DRIVER INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  3. Electric variable valve timing motor malfunction (Refer to ELECTRIC VARIABLE VALVE TIMING MOTOR/DRIVER INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
