DTC P0365-00: Exhaust CMP Sensor System: Circuit Malfunction

P0365-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Exhaust CMP sensor system: Circuit malfunction
Detection condition
  • The exhaust camshaft position sensor input signal pattern received during specified rotation of the crankshaft is incorrect.
  • Cylinder identification is not completed during specified rotation of the crankshaft.
Fail-safe
  • Stops fuel injection.
  • Stops ignition.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between sub relay and exhaust CMP sensor (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between exhaust CMP sensor and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CLEARING DTC .)
  3. Exhaust CMP sensor malfunction (Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  4. Dirt on exhaust CKP sensor detection area
  5. Exhaust CMP sensor pulse wheel malfunction
  6. Loose timing chain or improper valve timing (Refer to TIMING CHAIN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  7. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
