DTC P0198-00: Engine Oil Temperature Sensor System: High Input

P0198-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Engine oil temperature sensor system: High input
Detection condition	The specified period of time has elapsed while the engine oil temperature sensor voltage exceeds the standard. Precondition  Battery voltage: 8-20 V 0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)
Fail-safe	Not applicable
Possible cause	Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between engine oil temperature sensor and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CLEARING DTC .) Engine oil temperature sensor malfunction (Refer to applicable ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure	Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .) Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
