DTC P0571-00: Brake Switch System: Circuit Malfunction

P0571-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location	Brake switch system: Circuit malfunction
Detection condition	The brake switch does not switch even though the vehicle is stopped 8 times repeatedly from a vehicle speed of 30 km/h {19 mph} or more.
Fail-safe	Not applicable
Possible cause	CAUTION: Inspect the brake switch with it installed to the brake pedal, otherwise the brake switch may not operate normally. If the brake switch is removed from the brake pedal, replace the brake switch with a new one. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between brake switch (No. 2 signal) and body ground (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between brake switch (No. 2 signal) and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Brake switch (No. 2 signal) malfunction (Refer to applicable BRAKE SWITCH INSPECTION in the service information.) PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure	Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .) Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure. WARNING: While performing this step, always operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner. When the M-MDS is used to observe monitor system status while driving, be sure to have another technician with you, or record the data in the M-MDS using the PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD capturing function and inspect later. Drive the vehicle. Stop the vehicle 8 times repeatedly from a vehicle speed of 30 km/h {19 mph} or more. Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
