Intention of troubleshooting procedure

Step 1
- Perform inspection of engine oil leakage.
Step 2
- Perform inspection of engine oil level.
Step 3
- Inspect for clogging of oil strainer.
Step 4
- Perform an inspection of the connectors and wiring harnesses between the engine oil pressure sensor and PCM.
Step 5-6
- Perform a unit inspection of the engine oil pressure sensor and engine oil solenoid valve.
Repair completion verification
- Verify that the primary malfunction is resolved and there are no other malfunctions.

P055F-00: (PCM - VIN Y) TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT THERE IS NO ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE Start the engine. Verify that there is no engine oil leakage in the hydraulic circuit. Is there oil leakage from the oil passage?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, then add genuine engine oil. (Refer to ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT (VIN Y) in the service information.) Perform the repair completion verification 1.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	PURPOSE: INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL Inspect the engine oil level. (Refer to applicable ENGINE OIL LEVEL INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the engine oil level sufficient?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Add genuine engine oil and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT (VIN Y) in the service information.)
3	PURPOSE: INSPECT OIL STRAINER Inspect the oil strainer for clogging. (Refer to OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the oil strainer and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	PURPOSE: INSPECT WIRING HARNESS (INCLUDING CONNECTOR/TERMINAL) BETWEEN ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR AND PCM FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable circuit. (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .) Is the circuit normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
4		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
5	PURPOSE: VERIFY ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
5		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR/ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
6	PURPOSE: VERIFY ENGINE OIL SOLENOID VALVE FOR MALFUNCTION Inspect the applicable part. (Refer to ENGINE OIL SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.) Is the part normal?	Yes	Replace the oil pump and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
6		No	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1. (Refer to ENGINE OIL SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repair completion verification 1	PURPOSE: VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .) Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure. Implement the repeatability verification procedure. (See REPEATABILITY VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .) Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Is the same Pending DTC present?	Yes	Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)] .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1. If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repair completion verification 1		No	Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2	PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .) Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
Repair completion verification 2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
