DTC P0522-00: Engine Oil Pressure Sensor System: Low Input

P0522-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Engine oil pressure sensor system: Low input
Detection condition
  • The specified period of time has elapsed while the engine oil pressure sensor voltage is less than the standard.

Precondition 
  • Battery voltage: 8-20 V
  • 0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)
Fail-safe
  • Limits the engine torque or the upper limit of the engine speed.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between engine oil pressure sensor and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Engine oil pressure sensor malfunction (Refer to applicable ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  3. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
