DTC P0500-00: Vehicle Speed Signal System: Circuit Malfunction

P0500-00: (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

| Detection condition |
- The vehicle speed signal input from the DSC HU/CM is incorrect when the following condition is met:
- Shift position: except P or N position
- Charging efficiency: specification or more
- Engine speed: specified rpm or more
- Brake switch: OFF

| Fail-safe |
- Fixes the vehicle speed for the control at 0 km/h {0 mph}.

| Possible cause |
- DTCs are stored in the DSC HU/CM. (See DTC TABLE [DSC]
.)
- DSC HU/CM malfunction
- Front ABS wheel-speed sensor malfunction
- PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y)
in the service information.)

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC
.)
- Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
- Access the following PCM PIDs using the M-MDS.
WARNING:
- While performing this step, always operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.
- When the M-MDS is used to observe monitor system status while driving, be sure to have another technician with you, or record the data in the M-MDS using the PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD capturing function and inspect later.
- Drive the vehicle under the following condition for 14 s or more.
- Shift position: except P or N position
- Charging efficiency: above 40 %
- Engine speed: 2, 000 rpm or more
- Brake switch: OFF
- Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION
