DTC P2610-00: Malfunction In Body Control Module (BCM)

P2610:00 (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Malfunction in body control module (BCM)
Detection condition
  • Any one of the following conditions is met:
    • When the engine is stopped, the specified period of time has elapsed while the amount of time the engine has been stopped does not match between the 2 processors in the instrument cluster.
    • The specified period of time has elapsed while the instrument cluster cannot receive an engine speed signal from the PCM.
    • The specified period of time has elapsed while the instrument cluster cannot count the amount of time the engine has been stopped.

Precondition 
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine on)
  • The following DTCs are not detected:
    • P0335:00 and P0365:00
Fail-safe
  • The fast idle up correction for the drive-by-wire control is inhibited.
Possible cause
  1. Body control module (BCM) malfunction (Refer to applicable BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in the service information.)
  2. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
NOTE:
  • DTC P2610:00 can be cleared by performing the engine start and stop procedure.
  1. Start the engine.
  2. Stop the engine.
  3. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  4. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
