DTC P2602-00: Electric Water Pump Control Circuit Low Input

P2602:00 (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Electric water pump control circuit low input
Detection condition
  • When the PCM controls the electric water pump, the voltage input to the PCM is too low.
Fail-safe
  • Inhibits the boost control.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between sub relay and electric water pump (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between electric water pump and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  3. Electric water pump malfunction (Refer to ELECTRIC WATER PUMP INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
    WARNING:
    • While performing this step, always operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.
    • When the M-MDS is used to observe monitor system status while driving, be sure to have another technician with you, or record the data in the M-MDS using the PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD capturing function and inspect later.
    • Start the engine and run the engine under the freeze frame data/snapshot data condition.
  3. Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
