P2540:00 (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

| Detection condition |
- Variation in fuel pressure is standard or less with the following conditions met.
Precondition
- Battery voltage: 8 V or more
- Ignition switched ON (engine on)
- Engine speed: 500-2, 500 rpm
- Engine load: 0.5 %
- The following DTCs are not detected:
- Low fuel pressure sensor: P2541:00 and P2542:00

| Possible cause |
- Low fuel pressure sensor/fuel temperature sensor connector or terminals malfunction

in the service information.)
- PCM connector or terminals malfunction (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION
.)
- PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y)
in the service information.)

| Repeatability verification procedure |
- Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC
.)
- Start the engine. (Engine cold)
- Drive the vehicle on a flat road surface 10 times under the following conditions.
- Drive the vehicle in second gear at 25 km/h {16 mph} while maintaining the speed for 25 s.
- Stop the vehicle and idle the engine.
- Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION
.)
