DTC P0091-00: Spill Valve Control Solenoid Valve System: Low Input

P0091:00 (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Spill valve control solenoid valve system: Low input
Detection condition
  • The spill valve control solenoid valve control voltage is abnormally low and the specified period of time has elapsed even though the spill valve control solenoid valve is off.

Precondition 
  • Engine speed: 5, 700 rpm or less
  • Battery voltage: 10.5 V or more
Fail-safe
  • Stops high pressure fuel pump control
  • Limits intake air amount
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between spill valve control solenoid valve and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Spill valve control solenoid valve malfunction (built-into high pressure fuel pump) (Refer to HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  3. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOEO or KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
