DTC P0031-00: A/F Sensor Heater Control System: Low Input

P0031:00 (PCM - VIN Y) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location A/F sensor heater control system: Low input
Detection condition
  • When the PCM controls the A/F sensor heater, the voltage input to the PCM is too low.
Fail-safe
  • Stops fuel feedback control.
Possible cause
  1. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between sub relay and A/F sensor (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between A/F sensor and PCM (see CIRCUIT INSPECTION .) (see CONNECTOR INSPECTION .)
  3. A/F sensor malfunction (A/F sensor heater malfunction) (Refer to AIR FUEL RATIO (A/F) SENSOR INSPECTION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
  4. PCM malfunction (Refer to applicable PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) in the service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (see CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Perform the KOER self test. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
