Leakage inspection (U.S.A. And CANADA)
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION:
- Do not apply a pressure 20 kPa {150 mmHg, 5.91 inHg} or more to the charcoal canister for 1 min. or more. Doing so will damage the charcoal canister.
- Do not operate CV solenoid valve.
- Remove the following parts as a single unit: (See CHARCOAL CANISTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) .)
- Charcoal canister (main)
- Charcoal canister (sub)
- Evaporative hose
- Assemble the hose used for inspection to port A.
- Tightly close ports B, C, and D with caps.
- Apply pressure (19.6 kPa {147 mmHg, 5.79 inHg}) through the hose, and verify that air does not leak from the charcoal canister.
- If there is air leakage, replace the charcoal canister (main) and the charcoal canister (sub). (See CHARCOAL CANISTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (VIN Y) .)
- If there is no airflow, perform the following "Airflow Inspection". (See AIRFLOW INSPECTION (U.S.A. AND CANADA) .)
