DTC P0506-00: IAC System Rpm Lower Than Expected

P0506-00: (PCM - SKYACTIV-G 2.5T) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location IAC system RPM lower than expected
Detection condition
  • The actual idle speed is lower than the standard value, when the brake pedal is depressed (brake switch is on).
    NOTE:
    • If the atmospheric pressure is less than 72.2 kPa {0.736 kgf/cm 2  , 10.5 psi} or the intake air temperature is below -10°C {14°F}, the PCM cancels the diagnosis of DTC P0506-00: 
Fail-safe
  • Not applicable
Possible cause
  1. A/C magnetic clutch malfunction (stuck on). (See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  2. Drive-by-wire control system malfunction (See ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  3. Malfunction in injection amount measurement system (See P0101-00: [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)] .)
  4. Purge solenoid valve malfunction (Refer to PURGE SOLENOID VALVE INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
  5. Air cleaner element restricted (Refer to AIR CLEANER ELEMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
  6. Throttle body passage blockage (Refer to INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] in service information.)
  7. Engine malfunction (Insufficient engine compression) (Refer to COMPRESSION INSPECTION in service information.)
  8. Generator control circuit malfunction
  9. PCM malfunction (Refer to PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repeatability verification procedure
  1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  2. Replicate the vehicle conditions at the time the DTC was detected using the following procedure.
    • Start the engine and warm it up completely.
    • Depress the brake pedal for 14 s or more.
  3. Perform the DTC inspection for the PCM. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
