Diagnostic Procedure

DUAL A/C CONTROL DOES NOT OPERATE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY DASH-ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT DTCs 
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the dash-electrical supply unit. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
(See DTC TABLE [DASH_ESU] .)
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT AIR MIX LINK PART 
  • Inspect the air mix link for the following items. (Refer to A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY in service information.)
    • Is grease on link?
    • Are links securely and properly installed?
    • Are links free of obstructions and hindrances?
  • Are the above items normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to A/C UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY in service information.)
3 INSPECT AIR MIX ACTUATOR  Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to AIR MIX ACTUATOR REMOVAL [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSPECTION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
(Refer to AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or AIR MIX ACTUATOR INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
4 INSPECT AIR MIX DOOR 
  • Inspect the air mix door for the following items. (Refer to A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
    • Is there clogging, cracked, or damage?
    • Are links securely and properly installed?
  • Are the above items normal?
Yes Replace the climate control unit, then perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FULL-AUTO AIR CONDITIONER] , or CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER] in service information.)
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification 1.
(Refer to A/C UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION in service information.)
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED 
  • Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
  • Can the temperatures for the driver-side and passenger-side be adjusted independently?
Yes Troubleshooting completed. (Explain repair contents to customer.)
No Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
