A/C Does Not Work Sufficiently: Outline
A/C DOES NOT WORK SUFFICIENTLY DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE
| Troubleshooting item |
A/C does not work sufficiently |
| Description |
- A/C compressor magnetic clutch does not engage when A/C switch is turned on.
- Compressor valve inoperative
|
| Possible cause |
- DTCs are stored in the following modules:
- PCM
- Body control module (BCM)
- Dash-electrical supply unit
- Refrigerant pressure sensor malfunction
- Improper refrigerant charging amount
- Seized A/C compressor
- Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between PCM and ambient temperature sensor
- Evaporator temperature sensor malfunction
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between evaporator temperature sensor and dash-electrical supply unit
- Body control module (BCM) malfunction (Does not receive A/C request signal from climate control unit or transmit it to PCM)
- Climate control unit malfunction (A/C switch malfunction, climate control unit does not determine A/C request or transmit A/C request signal)
- Instrument cluster malfunction (PCM can not receive A/C request signal.)
- Open circuit in wiring harness between magnetic clutch and body ground
- A/C relay malfunction (stuck opened)
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between IG1 relay No. 2 and A/C relay
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery and A/C relay
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between A/C relay and PCM
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between A/C relay and magnet clutch
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between main relay and compressor valve
- Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between compressor valve and PCM
- Compressor valve malfunction (built-into A/C compressor)
