A/C Does Not Work Sufficiently: Outline

A/C DOES NOT WORK SUFFICIENTLY DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Troubleshooting item A/C does not work sufficiently
Description
  • A/C compressor magnetic clutch does not engage when A/C switch is turned on.
  • Compressor valve inoperative
Possible cause
  • DTCs are stored in the following modules:
    • PCM
    • Body control module (BCM)
    • Dash-electrical supply unit
  • Refrigerant pressure sensor malfunction
  • Improper refrigerant charging amount
  • Seized A/C compressor
  • Ambient temperature sensor malfunction
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between PCM and ambient temperature sensor
  • Evaporator temperature sensor malfunction
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between evaporator temperature sensor and dash-electrical supply unit
  • Body control module (BCM) malfunction (Does not receive A/C request signal from climate control unit or transmit it to PCM)
  • Climate control unit malfunction (A/C switch malfunction, climate control unit does not determine A/C request or transmit A/C request signal)
  • Instrument cluster malfunction (PCM can not receive A/C request signal.)
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between magnetic clutch and body ground
  • A/C relay malfunction (stuck opened)
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between IG1 relay No. 2 and A/C relay
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery and A/C relay
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between A/C relay and PCM
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between A/C relay and magnet clutch
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between main relay and compressor valve
  • Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between compressor valve and PCM
  • Compressor valve malfunction (built-into A/C compressor)
