Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) Removal/Installation

NOTE:
  • The Bluetooth® pairing information stored in the connectivity master unit (CMU) cannot be copied to the CMU after replacement. Before replacing the CMU, explain to the customer that the Bluetooth® pairing resetting is required.
  • The following procedure can be used to determine whether or not the vehicle is equipped with a Digital Owner's Manual.
  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  2. Select [Information] from the home screen of the center display.
  3. Verify that the [Owner's Manual] item is displayed on the [Information] screen.
    • If the vehicle is not equipped with a Digital Owner's Manual: [Owner's Manual] item is not displayed.
    • If the vehicle is equipped with a Digital Owner's Manual: [Owner's Manual] item is displayed.
  1. Perform the CMU information backup using the diagnostic assist function. (Refer to the [DIAGNOSTIC ASSIST FUNCTION [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT]] in the service information.)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .)
  3. Remove the passenger-side decoration panel. (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the bolts.

  5. Remove the CMU in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

  6. Disconnect the connectors.

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  8. If the connectivity master unit (CMU) is replaced, perform the following procedure.
  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete the global central configuration (GCC) for the connectivity master unit (CMU).
  2. Switch the ignition OFF.
  3. Switch the ignition ON (engine off) again.
  4. Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  5. Switch the ignition OFF.
  6. Perform the connectivity master unit (CMU) information restore using the diagnostic assist function. (Refer to the [DIAGNOSTIC ASSIST FUNCTION [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT]] in the service information.)
  7. Install the owner's manual data using the diagnostic assist function. (Refer to the [DIAGNOSTIC ASSIST FUNCTION [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT]] in the service information.)
