DTC P2090-00: OCV For Hydraulic Variable Valve Timing System Circuit Low Input: Notes

DTC P2090-00: (PCM, VIN M) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

DTC P2090-00: OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system circuit low input
DETECTION CONDITION
  • The OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system control voltage relative to the PCM control is too low.
Diagnostic support note
  • This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
  • The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
  • Set the exhaust variable valve timing control to the maximum advanced position.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
  • OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system connector or terminals malfunction
  • Short to ground or open circuit in OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system power supply circuit
    • Short to ground in wiring harness between ENGINE4 15 A fuse and OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system terminal B
    • ENGINE4 15 A fuse malfunction
    • Open circuit in wiring harness between main relay terminal C and OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system terminal B
  • PCM connector or terminals malfunction
  • Short to ground in wiring harness between OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system terminal A and PCM terminal 1CO
  • Open circuit in wiring harness between OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system terminal A and PCM terminal 1CO
  • OCV for hydraulic variable valve timing system malfunction
  • PCM malfunction
