Intention of troubleshooting procedure

TROUBLESHOOTING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION RESULTS ACTION
1 PURPOSE: INSPECT HOSE BETWEEN PURGE SOLENOID VALVE AND EJECTOR FOR CLOGGING, CRACKS, OR POOR CONNECTION
  • Verify if the hose in the following passage has a clogging, cracks, or poor connection.
    • Between purge solenoid valve and check valve (ejector side)
    • Between check valve (ejector side) and ejector
  • Is there any clogging, cracks, or poor connection?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results, then go to Step 10.
No Go to the next step.
2 PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF CHECK VALVE (EJECTOR SIDE) Yes Replace the check valve (ejector side), then go to Step 10.

No Go to the next step.
3 PURPOSE: INSPECT INSTALLATION OF EJECTOR Yes Go to the next step.
No Retighten the ejector, then go to Step 10.

4 PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF EJECTOR Yes Replace the ejector, then go to Step 10.
(See DYNAMIC PRESSURE TURBO REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VIN Y] .)
No Go to the next step.
5 PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF CHECK VALVE (INTAKE MANIFOLD SIDE) Yes Replace the check valve (intake manifold side), then go to Step 10. (See CHECK VALVE (INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VIN Y] .)
No Go to the next step.
6 PURPOSE: INSPECT HOSE BETWEEN FUEL TANK AND PURGE SOLENOID VALVE FOR CLOGGING, CRACKS, OR POOR CONNECTION
  • Verify if the hose in the following passage has a clogging, cracks, or poor connection.
    • Between fuel tank and fuel tank pressure sensor
    • Between fuel tank pressure sensor and charcoal canister
    • Between charcoal canister and purge solenoid valve
  • Is there any clogging, cracks, or poor connection?
Yes Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results, then go to Step 10.
No Go to the next step.
7 PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF CV SOLENOID VALVE Yes Replace the CV solenoid valve, then go to Step 10.

No Go to the next step.
8 PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF CHARCOAL CANISTER Yes Replace the charcoal canister, then go to Step 10.

No Go to the next step.
9 PURPOSE: DETERMINE INTEGRITY OF PURGE SOLENOID VALVE Yes Replace the purge solenoid valve, then go to the next step.

No Go to the next step.
10 PURPOSE: VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR COMPLETION Yes Repeat the inspection from Step 1 of the troubleshooting diagnostic procedure.
Go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
11 PURPOSE: VERIFY IF THERE IS ANY OTHER MALFUNCTION
  • Is any other DTC or pending code stored?
Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No DTC troubleshooting completed.
