U.S.A. and CANADA: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Level the vehicle.
  2. Complete the "BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION". (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION .)
  3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  4. Drain the fuel. (See FUEL DRAINING PROCEDURE .)
  5. Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the service hole cover. (2WD)

  7. Remove the service hole cover. (AWD)

  8. Disconnect the following parts. (2WD)
  9. Disconnect the following parts. (AWD)

    Main side 

  10. Remove the floor under cover. (See FLOOR UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  11. Disconnect the HO2S connector. (See HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  12. Remove the HO2S clip from the body. (See HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  13. Remove the TWC and HO2S as a single unit. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  14. Remove the propeller shaft. (AWD) (See PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  15. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  16. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  17. Complete the "AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION". (See AFTER SERVICE PRECAUTION .)
