NOTE:

The fuel gauge sender unit is located in the fuel pump unit. Therefore when replacing the fuel gauge sender unit, refer to "Fuel Pump Unit Disassembly, ". (See FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [VIN M] .) (See FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [VIN Y] .)

Complete the "BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION". (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [VIN M] .) (See BEFORE SERVICE PRECAUTION [VIN Y] .)
If the fuel gauge level indicates 3/4 or more, refer to the "FUEL DRAINING PROCEDURE" and drain the fuel. (See FUEL DRAINING PROCEDURE [VIN M] .) (See FUEL DRAINING PROCEDURE [VIN Y] .)
Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the fuel pump unit. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VIN M] .) (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [VIN Y] .)
Verify that the resistance between fuel pump unit terminals C and D is as indicated in the table.
