Disc Plate Thickness Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Mazda CX-30. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
- Excessive runout may result if the disc plate is removed from the vehicle then machined. Machine the disc plate while installed on the vehicle.
NOTE:
- The brake disc outer diameter shown in the illustration for 16-inch brake vehicles and 17-inch brake vehicles are as follows.
- Vehicles with 16-inch brakes: Brake disc outer diameter 265 mm
- Vehicles with 17-inch brakes: Brake disc outer diameter 303 mm
- Measure the thickness of the disc plate.
Minimum rear disc plate thickness
Vehicles with 16-inch brakes: 7.0 mm {0.28 in}
Vehicles with 17-inch brakes: 8.0 mm {0.31 in}
Minimum rear disc plate thickness after machining using a brake lathe on-vehicle
Vehicles with 16-inch brakes: 7.8 mm {0.31 in}
Vehicles with 17-inch brakes: 8.8 mm {0.35 in}
- If the thickness is not within the specification, replace the disc plate. (See REAR BRAKE DISC REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
