Without Passenger-side Knee Air Bag Module

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
  3. While pressing tab of the bracket in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the AFS control module connector in the direction of arrow (2) to pull out the AFS control module from the bracket.

  4. While pressing tab of the bracket in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, pull the AFS control module connector in the direction of arrow (2) to pull out the AFS control module from the bracket.

  5. Disconnect the connector and remove the AFS control module.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. If the AFS control module is replaced, perform the following procedure.
    1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) to complete the AFS control module automatic configuration.
    2. Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
    3. Perform the headlight auto leveling system initial setting. (See HEADLIGHT AUTO LEVELING SYSTEM INITIALIZATION (US) .)
