DTC P1708-24: Starter Interlock Switch Circuit Malfunction (BCM): Outline

DTC P1708:24 (BCM) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Starter interlock switch circuit malfunction
Detection condition
  • The body control module (BCM) detects an open circuit in the starter interlock switch circuit for a continuous 5 times.
Fail-safe
  • Change to the back-up mode.
Possible cause
  • DTCs are stored in the PCM.
  • Clutch stroke sensor malfunction
    • PCM malfunction
  • Starter interlock switch connector or terminal malfunction
  • Open circuit in starter interlock switch ground circuit
  • Starter interlock switch malfunction
  • Body control module (BCM) connector or terminal malfunction
  • Open circuit in starter interlock switch signal circuit
  • Body control module (BCM) malfunction
