Diagnostic Procedure

DTC B00D2:29 (AIRBAG) (US) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 INSPECT DTCs IN SAS CONTROL MODULE
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is DTC U0001:88, U0155:00 or U0156:00 displayed?
Yes Perform the applicable DTC inspection.

No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
  • Verify that the instrument cluster is correctly installed.
  • Is the instrument cluster correctly installed?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Correctly install the instrument cluster and perform the repair completion verification.

3 INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  • Does the air bag system warning light illuminate?
Yes Perform the repair completion verification.
No Replace the instrument cluster and perform the repair completion verification.

Repair completion verification PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
