Diagnostic Procedure

DTC B0095:11, B0095:13, B0095:87 OR B0095:96 [SAS CONTROL MODULE] DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 INSPECT CRASH ZONE SENSOR (CENTER) CONNECTOR
WARNING:
Yes Replace the malfunctioning part and perform the repair completion verification.
No Go to the next step.
2 INSPECT CRASH ZONE SENSOR (CENTER) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
3 INSPECT CRASH ZONE SENSOR (CENTER) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
  • Crash zone sensor (center) and SAS control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Inspect the crash zone sensor (center) signal circuit for open circuit. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for open circuit while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and crash zone sensor (center).
  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
4 INSPECT CRASH ZONE SENSOR (CENTER) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
  • Crash zone sensor (center) and SAS control module connectors are disconnected.
  • Connect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  • Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  • Inspect the crash zone sensor (center) signal circuit for a short to power supply. (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION .)
    NOTE:
    • Inspect for a short to power supply while shaking the wiring harness between the SAS control module and crash zone (center).
  • Is the circuit normal?
Yes Replace the crash zone sensor (center) and the repair completion verification.

No Repair or replace the malfunctioning location and perform the repair completion verification.
Repair completion verification PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error. (See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .)
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
