Diagnostic Procedure

DTC B0003:53 (AIRBAG) (US) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
  • Are any other DTCs output?
 Yes Repair the malfunction part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
 
(See DTC TABLE (AIRBAG) (US) .)
No Go to the next step.
2 PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION
  • Perform the SAS control module configuration using the M-MDS. (See CONFIGURATION .)
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are the same Pending DTCs present?
 Yes Go to the next step.
No If DTC is displayed:
  • Repair the malfunction part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE (AIRBAG) (US) .) If DTC is not displayed:
  • DTC troubleshooting completed.
Repair completion verification 1 PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE DTC INSPECTION
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are the same Pending DTCs present?
 Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
(See CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN) MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW (US) .) If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
  • Clear the DTC for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any other DTCs output?
 Yes Repair the malfunction part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No DTC troubleshooting completed.
