DTC C0049-85: Inappropriate Brake Fluid Level [Vehicle Control Module (Us)]: Outline

DTC C0049:85 (VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE - US) DETECTION CONDITION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

System malfunction location Inappropriate brake fluid level
Detection condition
  • The vehicle control module (VCM) receives a brake fluid error signal from the DSC HU/CM for 10 s.
Fail-safe (See DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (US)] .)
Possible cause
  • DSC HU/CM malfunction
    • Brake fluid level malfunction
  • Brake fluid level sensor connector or terminals malfunction
  • Brake fluid level sensor malfunction
  • Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM))
