Diagnostic Procedure

DTC B13D3:97 (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step Inspection Results Action
1 VERIFY BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DTCs AGAIN
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to repair completion verification 2.
2 VERIFY NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED REMOTE TRANSMITTER
  • Perform the PID/data monitor inspection and display the BCM TMTR_NUM. (See PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE (BCM) (US) .)
  • Verify the number of remote transmitters the customer owns.
  • Is the number of remote transmitters the customer owns the same as the displayed PID value?
Yes Go to the next step.
No The number of remote transmitters the customer owns is more than the programmed number of remote transmitters:

The number of remote transmitters the customer owns is less than the programmed number of remote transmitters:

Go to the next step.
3 VERIFY IF REMOTE TRANSMITTERS OWNED BY CUSTOMER HAVE BEEN PROGRAMMED
  • Perform a lock/unlock operation on all of the remote transmitters the customer owns.
  • Does the lock/unlock operation on all of the remote transmitters operate normally?
Yes Perform the repair completion verification.
No Go to the next step.
4 RESET CONFIGURATION DATA FOR BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
  • Using the M-MDS, perform the body control module (BCM) configuration. (See CONFIGURATION .)
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Perform the body control module (BCM) configuration again, then go to the next step.

No Go to repair completion verification 2.
5 REGISTER REMOTE TRANSMITTER
Yes Go to the next step.
No Go to repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1 VERIFY THAT VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
  • Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC .)
  • Perform the DTC inspection for the body control module (BCM). (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Is the same Pending DTC present?
Yes Refer to the controller area network (CAN) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.

If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1.
No Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2 VERIFY IF OTHER DTC IS DISPLAYED
  • Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
  • Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No DTC troubleshooting completed.
