ENGINE STALLS WHEN SHIFTED TO D, M, R POSITION (EV6A-EL, EV6AX-EL) DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

Step	Inspection	Results	Action
1	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OR TORQUE CONVERTER Perform the symptom troubleshooting "ENGINE STALLS-AFTER START/AT IDLE" and "LOW IDLE/STALLS DURING DECELERATION". (See ENGINE STALLS-AFTER START/AT IDLE [SKYACTIV-G] .) (See LOW IDLE/STALLS DURING DECELERATION [SKYACTIV-G (US)] .) Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace any malfunctioning parts according to the inspection result.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION IS DUE TO TORQUE CONVERTER OPERATION MALFUNCTION Verify the malfunction symptom. Does the engine stall in the R position?	Yes	Replace the torque converter. 2		No	Go to the next step.
3	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION IS DUE TO TCC SOLENOID VALVE OPERATION MALFUNCTION OR AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE INTERNAL MALFUNCTION Verify the malfunction symptom. Does the engine stall in the D or M position?	Yes	Replace the control valve body. (See CONTROL VALVE BODY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [EV6A-EL, EV6AX-EL (US)] .)
