Coil resistance inspection

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Disconnect the OCV for No. 4 cylinder deactivation connector. (See OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) FOR CYLINDER DEACTIVATION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Measure the resistance between terminals A and B using an ohmmeter.
OCV for No. 4 cylinder deactivation coil resistance
8.4-9.4 ohms [20°C {68°F}]
- If not as specified, replace the OCV for No. 4 cylinder deactivation. (See OIL CONTROL VALVE (OCV) FOR CYLINDER DEACTIVATION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
