Exhaust Shutter Valve Operation Inspection

  1. Verify that the engine has cooled down.
    • If it has not cooled down, wait until it has, then go to the next step.
  2. Move the vehicle to the position where the exhaust shutter valve motor can be verified as shown in the following illustration.

    NOTE:
    • The PCM performs the fully-closed position learning for the exhaust shutter valve when the ignition is switched OFF.
  3. Verify that the lever of the exhaust shutter valve is operating (exhaust shutter valve operates in fully-closed direction) as shown in the illustration at the instant the ignition is switched OFF (engine off).
