Seat Track Position Sensor Removal/Installation (Us/CANADA): Notes

WARNING:
- Handling the front seat (with side air bag module) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. - Switch the ignition off.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Remove the front driver's seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
- Disconnect the connector. (See CONNECTOR DISCONNECT NOTE .)
- Remove the screw.
- Detach the tab while lifting up the seat track position sensor in the direction of the arrow (1).
- Rotate the seat track position sensor in the direction of the arrow (2).
- Rotate the seat track position sensor in the direction of the arrow (3).
- Remove the seat track position sensor (4).
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and turns off.
- If the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the onboard diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See DTC INSPECTION .)
