Side air bag module

- Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
- Remove the front seat back trim and seat back pad. (See FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
- Remove the side air bag module. (See SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US/CANADA) .)
- Pull out the connector stopper plate using a flathead screwdriver.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Connect the processing wiring harness to the side air bag module.
- Install the side air bag module. (See SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US/CANADA) .)
- Install the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
- Verify that all persons are standing at least 6 m {19 ft} away from the vehicle.
- Untwist the processing wiring harness.
- Connect the processing wiring harness to the lead-acid battery and activate the inflator.
WARNING:
- The air bag module is very hot immediately after activation (deployment) and can cause burns if touched. Leave the actuator alone for approx. 15 min or more after activation (deployment) to let it cool down before handling.
