Wheel hub component, Rear Drive Shaft Removal Note

CAUTION:
  • The oil seal could be damaged by the end of the drive shaft. When removing the rear drive shaft, be careful not to damage the oil seal. If the oil seal is damaged, replace it with a new one.
  • Be careful not to damage the rear drive shaft boot.
  • Be careful not to damage the rear ABS sensor rotor.
  1. Install a spare nut onto the drive shaft.
  2. Tap the nut with a copper hammer and separate the drive shaft from the axle.

  3. Lightly tap the step of the rear drive shaft using the brass bar and hammer, and separate the rear drive shaft from the rear differential.

  4. Before removing the wheel hub component, place alignment marks on the wheel hub component and the torsion beam axle so that they can be installed to the same position before removal.
  5. Remove the wheel hub component.
  6. Move the rear drive shaft in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the illustration and pull the rear drive shaft out of the rear differential.

  7. Move the rear drive shaft in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the illustration and remove it.
