Fuel Gauge Sender Unit Inspection (2WD)

NOTE:

The fuel gauge sender unit is located in the fuel pump unit. Therefore when replacing the fuel gauge sender unit, refer to FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY (SKYACTIV-G 2.0) .)

Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the rear seat cushion. (See REAR SEAT CUSHION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the fuel pump unit. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (SKYACTIV-G 2.0) .)
Verify that the resistance at fuel pump unit terminals D and C is as follows according to the height of the float.

Resistance when float is in the highest position

18.5-21.5 ohms

Resistance when float is in the lowest position

197-203 ohms

If the resistance is not within the specification, replace the fuel gauge sender unit. (See FUEL PUMP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (SKYACTIV-G 2.0) .)
