Rear Bumper Removal/Installation

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the rear combination light. (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the rear splash shield. (See REAR SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
NOTE:
- After removing the rear combination light, temporarily secure the rear combination light short-cord using the tape so that the procedure is performed smoothly.
Affix the protective tape to the position shown in the figure to prevent scratches and damage.

Move the remover tool in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the clips of the rear over fender from the body.

Remove the screws.

Remove the hole covers.

Remove the screws.

Remove fasteners A.

Move the rear under cover tabs in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove the rear under cover.
Remove the fasteners B.
Affix the protective tape to the position shown in the figure to prevent scratches and damage.

CAUTION:
- If the rear bumper hooks are detached from the rear bumper slider without supporting the rear bumper, it may fall off and be damaged. Detach the rear bumper hooks from the rear bumper slider using two people, one person supports the rear bumper.
- Carefully remove the rear bumper from the rear bumper slider. If the rear bumper hooks are detached from the rear bumper slider with excessive force, the rear bumper hooks may be damaged because the rear bumper hooks and the rear bumper slider are engaged firmly.
Detach the rear bumper from the rear bumper sliders while holding the rear end of the rear bumper, moving it in the order of the arrows shown in the figure, and detaching the hooks.

Hold the shaded area shown in the figure, pull the rear bumper in the direction of the arrow, and detach the rear bumper from the body and the rear bumper bracket.

Disconnect the connector. (With parking sensor system)

Remove the wiring harness clip. (With parking sensor system)
Remove the rear bumper in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

WARNING:
- After removing the rear bumper, secure the rear over fender with tape to prevent the rear over fender from being damaged and to prevent injury.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
- If the rear bumper installation position is changed or individual differences (coating film/thickness) occur, the blind spot monitoring control module radar angle will deviate which could result in the module not detecting a vehicle approaching from the rear correctly. If the rear bumper is replaced, perform the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .)
If the rear bumper is replaced, perform the blind spot monitoring (BSM) radar test. (With blind spot monitoring (BSM) system) (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .)
