Seat belt With Lap Pre-tensioner Seat Belt

Switch the ignition to off.
Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the fastener.

Remove the cover.
Remove the following parts:
1. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. B-pillar lower trim (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Press the adjuster anchor cover in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure and remove it in the direction of arrow (2).

Using a flathead screwdriver, lift the locking device carefully, however do not remove it.

Disconnect the lap pre-tensioner seat belt connector.
Disconnect the pre-tensioner seat belt connector.
Remove bolts A.
Remove bolt B.
Remove the lap pre-tensioner seat belt.
Remove the front seat belt retractor.
Remove the front seat belt.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
Verify that the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 s and turns off.
- If the air bag/seat belt pre-tensioner system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system. (See FLOWCHART [SAS CONTROL MODULE (TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.)] .)
