Service Plug Disconnection/Connection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 Mazda 3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
- Do not get dust or oil on the service plug because it could increase the resistance in the capacitor (i-ELOOP).
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
- Turn the steering wheel completely to the right.
- Remove the 3 fasteners for the front mudguard (LH) shown in the figure.
- Remove the service plug installation bolt shown in the figure.
- Pull the service plug in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
NOTE:
- The service plug cannot be completely removed.
- Using the removed installation bolt, temporarily hold the service plug at the position to which it was pulled.
CAUTION:
- Tighten the bolt not using a tool but your hand so as not to strip the thread.
- Perform removal/installation of target i-ELOOP related parts.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
