Rear Stabilizer Removal/Installation (2WD): Notes

WARNING:
  1. Verify that the rear crossmember is securely supported by a jack. If the rear crossmember falls off, it can cause serious injury or death, and damage to the vehicle.
CAUTION:
  • Performing the following procedures without first removing the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor may possibly cause an open circuit in the wiring harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before performing the following procedures, disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness (axle side) and fix the wiring harness to an appropriate place where it will not be pulled by mistake while servicing the vehicle.
  1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  2. Release the electric parking brake.
  3. Switch the ignition off.
  4. Disconnect the auto leveling sensor link. (With auto leveling sensor) (See AUTO LEVELING SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

  5. Disconnect the wiring harness clips and connector installed to the rear crossmember. (With auto leveling sensor)

  6. Disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness and the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector and set it aside so that it does not interfere with the servicing. (See REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (2WD) .)

  7. Remove the TWC. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  8. Remove the rear coil spring. (See REAR COIL SPRING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  9. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  11. Inspect the wheel alignment and adjust it if necessary. (See REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT .)
