Front Seat Back Trim Removal/Installation: Removal

  1. Switch the ignition off (LOCK).
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more  . (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  3. Remove the headrest.
  4. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the fasteners and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (With power seat system/with position memory system)

  6. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and set the front seat cushion trim away from the front seat cushion frame. (Without power seat system/without position memory system)
  7. Disconnect the connectors shown in the figure.

  8. Remove the clip.
  9. Move hook A in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and detach it from hook B.

  10. Unzip the zippers.
  11. Move the hook in the order of arrows (1), (2), (3) shown in the figure and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back frame.

  12. While pressing the tabs in the direction of arrows (4) shown in the figure, pull the pole guides in the direction of arrow (5) and remove the pole guides from the front seat back frame.
  13. Pull out the pin in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

  14. Move the remover tool in the direction of arrows (2) shown in the figure, pull the clip in the direction of arrow (3) with the tabs pressed, and remove the side air bag module securing belt from the front seat back frame.
  15. Pull the wiring harnesses shown in the figure out through the holes in the front seat back pad.

  16. Pull out the front seat back pad, and the front seat back trim and front seat back warmer wiring harness (with seat warmer system) toward the front of the front seat.

  17. Lift up the front seat back trim and front seat back pad in the direction of the arrow as a single unit and remove it from the front seat back frame.

  18. Follow the procedure for each type and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.
    CAUTION:
    • If a C-ring is damaged while removing or installing the front seat back trim and front seat back pad, it may not be possible to install the front seat back trim and front seat back pad normally. When removing or installing the front seat back trim and front seat back pad, be careful not to damage the C-rings.
    • If a C-ring is damaged, replace it with a new one.

      A type 

      • Unzip the zipper.

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), and (8) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        B type 

      • Unzip the zipper.

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), and (8) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        C type 

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), and (9) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        D type 

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), and (9) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        E type 

      • Unzip the zipper.

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        F type 

      • Unzip the zipper.

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        G type 

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and (7) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.

        H type 

      • Remove C-rings in the order of (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6), and (7) shown in the figure, and remove the front seat back trim from the front seat back pad.
