Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) Bracket Removal/Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5] .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Rear combination lights (See REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear bumper (See REAR BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. BSM control module (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the nuts.

  4. Remove the clips.

  5. Remove the BSM bracket.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Perform the BSM radar test. (See BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) RADAR TEST .)
CAUTION:
  • If the BSM bracket is replaced, not performing the BSM radar test will cause a deviation in the radar emission angle which could result in the system not detecting a vehicle approaching from the rear correctly. If the BSM bracket is replaced, perform the BSM radar test.
