Steering Column Component Removal Note

CAUTION:
- Always lock the adjusting lever to prevent damage to the steering column. In addition, do not unlock the adjusting lever until after the steering column installation is completed.
- If the steering column is removed, remove it according to the procedure to prevent damage to intermediate shaft that could result if the steering column is removed in the incorrect order.
- Lock the adjusting lever.
- Place alignment marks on the steering gear (pinion) and the intermediate shaft as shown in the figure.
- Remove the bolt, disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering gear (pinion shaft).
- Remove nut A.
- Loosen nut B.
- Remove the steering column component by tilting it towards the loosened nut B and sliding it outward.
